San Francisco—The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has launched a demonstration project to find, screen and treat immigrants and refugees living in the United States who come from countries where hepatitis B is endemic.
The project goal is to slow the spread of hepatitis B among foreign-born residents of the United States, who now account for the majority of chronic hepatitis B cases in this country.
